Livna, a syrup composed of well proven

Composition.
Chelidonium Majus Ø 2.5%, Kalmegh Ø 2.5%,
Cardus Marianus Ø 2.5%, Hydrastis Canadensis Ø 2.5% in
Syrup base Q.S.
Action of Individual Drugs.
The remedies listed below play a role in relieving &
curing the following medical signs & symptoms : Chelidonium Majus (Celandine) : A prominent liver
remedy, covering many of the direct reflex symptoms of
diseased conditions of that organ. Jaundice and constant
pain under inferior angle of right scapula, are certain
indications. Great general lethargy and indisposition to
make any effort is also marked. Serous effusions and bilious
complications during gestation are also covered. Its other
indications are yellow discoloration of sclera and face,
bitter taste in mouth with nausea and vomiting, profuse
yellow urine, clay colored stools and alternate diarrhoea
and constipation. Enlarged liver, gallstones and jaundice
due to hepatic and gallbladder obstruction are within its
therapeutic range. Kalmegh (The great king of bitters, kiryat) : Used
successfully in worms of children, vomiting, infantile
liver, enlargement of liver and spleen, fever with
constipation, kala-azar of children and also in boils and
septic wounds. Used by Ayurvedic physicians for relief of
gripes, irregular bowel habits, loss of appetite &
jaundice. An excellent remedy in chronic fever associated
with enlargement of liver and spleen & burning in hands,
feet, eyes and face. Cardus Marianus (St. Mary's Thistle) : Action of this
drug is centered in the liver and portal system, causing
soreness, pain and jaundice. Has specific relation to the
vascular system. Abuse of alcoholic beverages, especially
beer. Dropsical conditions, ability and hemorrhages due to
hepatic disease are within its domain. The other indications
are: bitter taste, nausea and vomiting, gallstone disease
with enlarged liver, cirrhosis with dropsy and haemorrhagic
diathesis. Hydrastis Canadensis (Golden Seal) : Acts especially
in old, cachectic individuals with great debility, weak
muscular power, poor digestion and obstinate constipation.
Gastro-duodenal catarrh, liver torpidity, jaundice,
gallstones and pains of cancer are the principal symptoms.
Used especially as a general tonic, to increase appetite, in

Note.
In cases of Jaundice & Hepatitis avoid fatty, rich, oily food
and alcohol. Individuals suffering from jaundice, hepatitis,
history of alcohol consumption and rapid weight loss are
recommended to continue Livna over a longer duration of time for
a sustained improvement.
