Kofnax acts gently to soothe minor throat and bronchial irritations. Highly effective, not only in cases of simple, dry, tight and tickling coughs due to cold and smoking, but also in cases of whooping cough and asthma. The principal ingredients help to soothe the respiratory tract and facilitate expulsion of discharges thereby favoring a complete recovery. Use of inhalers in mild cases and antibiotics in chronic cases may be avoided with regular use of this syrup.

Indication.

Cough variants: Dry tickling cough, Cough associated with bronchitis, Smokers Cough, Whooping Cough, Bronchitis and Asthma.

Composition.

Justicia Adhatoda Ø 2.5%, Bryonia Ø 2.5%, Eucalyptus Globulus Ø 2.5%, Grindelia Ø 2.5%, Blatta Orientalis Ø 1.5%, Mentholum Ø 1.5% in Syrup base Q.S.

Action of Individual Drugs.

The remedies listed below play a role in relieving & curing the following medical signs & symptoms :
Justicia Adhatoda (Singhee) : Highly efficacious for acute catarrhal conditions of the respiratory tract. Coryza fluent with constant sneezing. Paroxymal cough, with suffocative obstruction. Tightness across chest. Whooping cough and asthmatic attacks in close, warm rooms.
Bryonia Alba (Wild Hops) : Dry, hacking cough from irritation. Cough at night with stitches in chest. Rust colored sputum. Constant desire to take long breaths. Tough mucous loosened only with much hawking.
Eucalyptus Globulus (Gum-tree) : A powerful antiseptic and expectorant. Asthma, with great dyspnoea and palpitation. The expectoration is profuse, muco-purulent and offensive. Useful in whooping cough, emphysema, and bronchorrhoea. Bronchitis in the aged.
Grindelia Robusta (Rosin-wood) : An efficacious remedy for wheezing and oppression in bronchitic patients. The sibilant rales are disseminated and difficult to detach. Asthma, pertussis and bronchorrhoea are well covered by this remedy.
Blatta Orientalis : Specially indicated in cases of asthma, bronchitis, cough with dyspnoea and when the expectoration is pus-like.
Mentholum : Menthol has proved curative in acute nasal catarrh, acute eustachian catarrh, pharyngitis, laryngitis and asthma.

Dosage.

One tablespoonful 3 times a day. Children: half the dose, or as prescribed by the physician. (One tablespoon = 10 ml.)

Note.

Cold, fried, juicy items, colored food stuffs & smoking should be avoided.
